Seeking funds to assist the Cooley family with the cost of laying their son Steven to rest and settling his estate and legal affairs.

Steven Cooley, of Palm Springs, CA. was our beloved friend, community activist and medical cannabis advocate. He passed away suddenly on monday February 15, 2016, from an apparent heart attack close to his home.
We are seeking immediate funds to cover the following costs which are quickly mounting (to name a few):
-Cremation Services.
-Coroners Fees.
-Boarding Services (30 days) for his Moluccan                         Cockatoo, Klaatu.
-Moving Services to clear out his home of furnishings         and personal belongings.
-Additional rent payment for 2 extra weeks to remove       his personal belongings from his home.
-Settling outstanding debts
-Shipping costs to send Stevens belongings to his family      in Florida.
-Travel costs and expenses, FL-CA r/t for 4 family                  members.
- Etc.
As is the case with many of us, Steve's parents live on a fixed income. The expenses are mounting  quickly which has us all stressed trying to determine how to cover the costs without bringing on more hardship.
Steves niece Dannielle thought to suggest Go Fund Me, to raise the neccessary funds.
I am Mitchell Mills, one of Steves closest friends. Steven tapped me to preside over the distribution of his estate, and so, here we are.
Steve Cooley is survived by his 18 year old Malucan Cockatoo Klaatu, his father Tracy, mother Mickey, his sister Carol and niece Dannielle who all live in florida where Steven was raised. The family immediately made travel arrangements to be present in CA. to settle Steven's affairs and to attend Steven's memorial on friday february 26th, 2016 at PS Organica in Palm Springs, CA. The Cooley family will join Steves friends and colleagues with an open and loving heart, to say a last goodbye to a man we all have dearly loved. To a loving friend who we will miss immensely.
With this listing for funding, I am attempting to protect the family from further hardship at this time. Steven and I looked after eachother in life. It seems right, that at this time of grief and loss, that I should now look after his parents well being. Despite all their differences, Steven loved his family and they indeed loved him.
