Hello we are raising money for our amazing, kind hearted, loving, cancer fighting warrior Laura Larson-Tucker. Her journey is going to be long and hard but with the support and love from her family and friends we can help get Laura, Bobby and the boys through this chapter.

 

On March 6th Laura and Bobby were on their way home from the north coast. Laura ended up falling and breaking her hip. She was in the hospital for over a week and has since received a full hip replacement. She is currently in the  Sutter Rehabilitation Institute, which has been both challenging and amazing. She will stay at SRI for the next week or so.  Learning how to do things like sit up, walk, bathe with her new hardware, independently.

We’ve also learned cancer is back in her body. We’re still waiting for some more test to come back but it appears her breast cancer has spread to her bones, like her hip! Multiple spots were first discovered through an MRI and confirmed through a PET scan. Laura’s hip break occurred before we had the PET. Scan results. When Laura had her hip replacement they took a bone biopsy. She should have those results next week. At that point her oncologist will be able to tell her what stage the cancer is at and we can develop a treatment plan from there.  The timing of the break and the results of her scans have made things wonky. The hip break rehab/recovery has been the primary focus.  As far as her oncologist can tell it is consistent with Metastatic disease, to her bones.

The messages I have been receiving really help get me through each day! It’s just hard, for me, to respond. Please don’t stop
