Roundhouse Kick to Cancer’s Face!

Donation protected
My family has lived in South Texas for five generations. We are a big family. We are a strong family. We are a hard working family. Everything I know about how to survive in this world, I learned from my father, who learned it from his father, and so on. My father, Esteban, is a welder by trade, self taught. He was working hard in the Texas sun up to the day he started his chemo and radiation treatments four weeks ago. He’s a fighter. I firmly believe that the cancer in his throat had no idea of the fight it was in for when it chose to pick my dad as its next target. That C is going to get a whopping roundhouse kick to its cancer face, and won’t be able to do a thing about it!

My dad has touched so many lives in his lifetime. He’s the first one to help a friend or stranger in need. I can’t count how many times he stopped on the side of the road to help a stranded motorist, whether he knew them or not, while us kids sat bored or napping in the back seat. Or like the time he gave our TV away to a relative because he learned they didn’t have one. “Dad! Now we don’t have one!” was what he got from us kids for his charity, lol.

Except for the past two years, my Dad never had health care. Unless he was experiencing massive blood loss, he always just toughed everything out, including the time he fell off of a two story garage and landed face up on the ground! I thank the stars (and Obama) that he was able to get health insurance last year. So, minus a hefty deductible, many of his health care costs are covered. What my folks need is some help to cover travel costs - fuel and flat tires - and lost income from my dad not being able to work.

Both my mom and dad are the most generous people I’ve ever known. I know they’d be incomparablely grateful to anyone who donates. And I am grateful to you just for reading this and thinking of us. Please send whatever you can, even if it’s just positive thoughts and cheers as he fights this A-hole known as cancer!
