Matthew Epperson is a native of Cleveland Tennessee and a graduate of Bradley Central High School, B.S. UT Chattanooga, and completed his post graduate at the University of Illinois ( Champagne) with a PhD in Organic Chemistry.  Matt has worked as a research scientist for many years in California specializing in cancer research,  prior to returning home to take a chemist position in a local chemical manufacturing company. 
   In September of 2019 Matthew was diagnosed with a brain tumor of the pituitary gland. November of 2019 Matthew was admitted to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta to undergo a lengthy and dangerous surgery to remove the tumor. Recuperation has been long and painful with some irreversible results. 
   Matthew's existing employer has limited funding for long term disability compensation.  The medical bills are growing and are only partially covered by the companies insurance.
   The initial funding being sought is to relive the out-of- pocket expenses not covered by the existing insurance. Any funds collected will be used to cover those expenses and any excess, should there be any, will be donated equally between The Shriner's Hospital and St. Jude
Childrens  Hospitals. 
   Matt is 46 years old and his prognosis is that he can never drive or hold a full time work position  in the field has studied and dedicated his life to.
