This is Leia, my 11 year old baby. She’s been with me even through me moving countries and she is a significant part of my life and part of my family.

She usually wakes me up daily at 6am but yesterday December 24th was the exception. She woke up groggy, refused to leave her bed and had stayed there even past 10am. She is usually very energetic and cheerful and acts like a puppy. She didn't want to eat, she didn't want to move, pee or poo. her face only told us how tired she was.

At first I thought she had accidentally taken 25mg of trozedone which is generally safe for dogs. She was drinking water, sleeping all day and would raise her head and wag her tail. I wasn’t worrying, but today she peed a big puddle of blood…

So I am currently sitting at the pet ER. She was diagnosed with Babesia gibsonis which is a parasite eating her red blood cells. She is so weak she can’t stand or walk.

I work as an assistant manager at a gym, and I generally don’t have money to pay over my rent (I live in Miami so it is very high) and small expenses like food, gas, my car, etc.

All I want is to be able to get my baby more time. She isn’t ready to go, she acts just like a puppy.
