Hi Friends and Family. I’m reaching out to give everyone an update regarding Devin, as well as asking for any help anyone might be able to provide.

Devin is a month out from surgery and is tackling healing head-on just like she does life. She has learned how to get around her house by scooting herself backwards in her office chair with the walker on her lap, getting groceries delivered and carrying the bags in on a broom handle, and keeping herself entertained with her artistic expression. She is in a new brace; however, she is still having some blood flow/circulation issues they are monitoring.

Devin is independent and lives far from us because she has been such a hard worker, advancing in her career from such a young age, becoming a boss lady. However, she is facing at least 8 more weeks of no walking, which means no working either. We have no idea how long physical therapy will be once she finally gets the go-ahead for that, so it could perhaps be longer. Until short-term disability kicks in to assist, I’m hoping we can. Anyone who lives alone especially knows how daunting bills can be, let alone with unexpected medical expenses like this.
