Help Steve get his life back!

On February 16th, 2022, Steve Miller’s mobile home and shop were burned to the ground by an ember from a wood-burning stove. Steve did not have insurance. Steve’s a 60-year-old man that lives a simple life and now has lost virtually everything he owned. His home held his life’s keepsakes, photographs, and all his personal belongings. Besides losing all the irreplaceable photos and personal items, he also had his life savings stashed away in the house. He now knows he made a mistake keeping it in his home, but he thought the money was in a container safe from fire, but it was not, so it is all gone too. Steve luckily escaped serious injury as he was blown out the front door when he attempted to enter to put out the fire.
Steve’s actual words right after the fire:
“well sir I ain't gonna lie..
In the middle of it all ..when everyone was yelling atleast your alive ..and my reply was I don't care I don't have anything to live for now...60 years my life is burning up in front of me....
But in hospital..soooo many people call text came to see me ...brought me clothes to were home ..I didn't have shoes on I dunno what happened there...
Anyways...it changed my mind ..I thought to myself I cannot let all these people down....
Every day is up down up down still break down and cry when I find burnt up pic my mom ..dad..daughter...etc...
But then find kart part undamaged..feel better..
So I'm here till the end ..lol...”
Steve had a heart attack in 2021 and has not been able to work since and is not likely to be able to work again. Since then, he has had no income, and even his disability claim has not been processed. Since Steve has no income, his family is helping the best they can with his daily needs, but he will need more help to recover his life. Steve is a proud person, and it took a lot of convincing for him to agree to do this GoFundMe to accept help from people, but he realizes the dire straits he is now in and must swallow his pride and accept the generosity of friends and strangers that can relate to the hard times he now finds himself. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated to help Steve get back to where he was before this tragedy struck. No amount is too small or too great.
Besides the massive loss of his savings and personal items, his attached shop, which also burned to the ground, housed many of his very valuable vintage go-kart and mini-bike collection, plus hundreds of rare parts and engines that were destroyed. These were his prized treasures that he’s been collecting for over 45 years, not to make a profit, but to cherish and help to preserve the history of karting. In time he may be able to replace some, but others were so rare it will be doubtful he’ll find another one. The pictures show the melted remnants of many of them.
He is now living in an old, barely livable family home that has been abandoned for 20 years and he does not own. However, it puts a roof over his head while he tries to find a way to buy another mobile home to put on his property. This fundraiser is Steve’s only hope to replace his home, which he badly needs as quickly as possible, but of course he will never replace the photographs, collectibles or keepsakes that were lost forever in the fire.
Our goal for this fundraiser is far below what Steve lost, but it would give him a home and a leg up on a new life. Thanks to everyone for your support for Steve.
