Help me rebuild from Homeless to a project boat

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Louise – and I’m currently homeless.

I'm based Berkshire, England last 5 years & London before that 15 years and life has taken an unexpected and difficult turn. Renting rooms is now sky high & keeps going up & work has got less & less. Hard to get past landlords when self employed but trying all things to figure out what’s next. For the past several months, I’ve been living out of my tent, sleeping in my car, and occasionally I get to dog sit, couch-surf at random people’s places which I (don’t like) to do or book the odd night in an Airbnb as a rest bite when I can afford it. I’ve done everything I can to stay safe and keep going—but I’m now reaching out for help to find a stable, long-term place to call home.

I’ve worked hard my whole life—first as a pro model, and for the past five years as a dedicated dog walker and sitter. But with the rising cost of living and housing prices soaring, I lost my place to live, due to rent hiking up and work opportunities have become more scarce. When I reached out to local homeless project, I was told I didn’t qualify for support. I don’t have children, and I don’t claim benefits. I’ve also lost both of my parents, and I don’t have a partner or family to fall back on. I said I’m sleeping in my car & they dared me. Blanket.. I wasn’t happy but realised there’s no support from government either.

This experience has made me feel invisible—but I have to keep going as I’ll figure it out eventually as I can’t give up.

What I’m asking for: is help support towards a small liveaboard project cabin boat.

I’m fundraising to buy a modest, functional project boat I can live on—a dry, safe space with a roof over my head and a door I can lock. It doesn’t need to be fancy, just structurally sound and secure, with the potential to improve over time. A boat offers a rare opportunity for someone like me to have an affordable, stable, and independent living situation. It’s a way to rebuild—not just survive, but live again.

I’m looking to raise enough to cover:

A small, liveable boat
Transport and mooring fees
Basic repairs and materials to make it safe and dry
Emergency short stays (like Airbnb) until I find the right boat
With this stability, I’ll be able to eat properly, rest without fear, and focus on rebuilding my work life, my mental health, and my future.

Over the years, I’ve helped raise thousands for charity, rehomed rescue dogs, and even volunteered overseas to help rebuild schools after natural disasters. I’ve always tried to give back. Now, I’m asking—humbly—for a little help myself.

Every donation, no matter the amount, brings me closer to having a safe place to live.
Even if you’re not in a position to give, sharing this page can help more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story—and for seeing me.

With love and deep gratitude,
Louise
