Hello,

My name is Chuck Galloway. I recently found out that i have end-stage liver disease. I have never drank or smoked but have had several (41) surgeries to correct injuries that ended my career 17 years ago. The State of California has so far refused to accept the responsibility for this, even though the surgeries and pain meds I was on for years destroyed my liver. My insurance covers some of it but not all. I have to relocate to another state for four months and hire two full-time caregivers for this time. I am on a fixed pension income and will not be able to afford all the costs. I am a father of two very wonderful kids and need this operation to see them grow up. I am very private and proud, which is very difficult for me to share. The injury caused by this happened while I was working as a California Highway Patrol Officer. I was crushed between two cars at the end of a high-speed pursuit. And while extracting my partner from our destroyed car, a GMC Yukon squished me between him and our car at about 70-75 mph after I could still pull my partner and carry him to a safe location with multiple compound fractures in my right leg. I have spent the last 17 years in chronic pain and never knew that the liver had taken a beat the way it did. I am here begging for help to see my children grow up. Even after this transplant, I still need a few more surgeries to correct issues from the injuries, but they can not do that until I have a new liver. So the funds raised will help cover the surgery and the relocation of somewhere to live and health care workers. Please help and share. You are the answer to prayers by my family and me.
