Calling All Prayer Warriors

2025 has been a tough year for the Martinez Family. First, Annette had to undergo radiation and weekly chemo in Houston and then spend about twenty days at MD Anderson for a stem cell transplant. Several weeks ago, Annette got great news - no trace of myeloma after her bone marrow biopsy. This means the transplant and chemo worked, at least for now.

Ray's mom underwent open-heart surgery in early August. Rosie is now home and doing well.

In late July, Ray started experiencing dizzy spells out of nowhere. Ray took a little trip to the ER due to continued dizziness. A CT scan revealed an abnormal growth. Ray was admitted to the hospital, and tests were run. Come to find out, Ray has a brain tumor. The tumor seems to be slow-growing. Which means it is hopefully noncancerous. We will know for sure after the biopsy. Surgery is scheduled for September 17, 2025. Ray will have to take an extended time off from coaching and teaching. The medical bills are already starting to roll in. The extent of the surgery is unknown; rehab will be required, which could take 2-12 months. We will have more updates after surgery.
