My name is Laura and Rachel Nigh is my sister.  A few months ago, she was laid low by a horrible condition which kept her confined to her bed and gave her intense pain every time she tried to eat anything.  I have watched her suffer and shed pound after pound while her body struggled to function normally and failed.  At times, her pain forced her to the emergency room where they eased her symptoms momentarily and then sent her home again.  After weeks of this cycle, she was finally admitted to Watsonville Hospital for treatment.  Immediately, things began to look brighter.  Since then, she has made progress toward recovery and in time we all hope and pray she will get her life back!  During this time, our family and friends have been wonderful!  Meals have arrived for the Nighs and everyone has continually offered their support.  I am now calling on all of you again for your help.  The medical insurance will cover a good deal of Rachel’s treatment, but there is a $6,000 out of pocket cost that it will not cover!  The burden of this illness has been hard for Rachel and her family to bear and I hope we can all ease the financial portion of it.  Thank you so much for reading Rachel’s story and thank you all for your prayers and support.
