This page was started to help create a memorial for Narmin Aziz Hafeez. Narmin passed away on Friday December 11, 2015. This was a devastation to us all. My name is Kelsey Holmes and I am one of Narmin and Areeb's friends and ever since this tragic loss I have been trying to think about what we could do for her husband, Areeb, as well as, her friends and family in the area. I have been working along with many of our friends and together we have decided it would be nice to have a memorial here for both Areeb and their family and friends to visit and remember her. Narmin is buried in Azerbaijan, and so to have something here would truly mean a lot to us all. Areeb and Narmin met, married, and lived in Houston together. Therefore, we would like to find a beautiful and quite space in Houston for her memorial. Our idea is to dedicate a new bench with a plaque in a Houston park. We have a few options in mind and the funds raised will determine what we can accomplish. The top choice is to build the bench in Hermann Park and have a bronze plaque placed in memory of Narmin. Hermann Park is a very well known public space in Houston and it is well kept and beautiful. The second option is to build the bench in the Houston Arboretum, which is still a very nice spot and is less costly. Either way, I know that these spaces would provide a very lovely spot for Areeb and others to remember the beautiful and vibrant spirit of Narmin Aziz Hafeez.
