Help Jax Get Life-Saving Surgery

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Jenny, and I’m asking for help to save my sweet boy Jax.

Jax is only 3 years old, but he’s already endured more heartbreak than most dogs ever will. He spent nearly two years in a shelter with no known history. After finally being adopted, he sadly ended up with an abusive owner, who eventually surrendered him again.

One day, while I was walking my two dogs, Wifi and Stitch, a woman approached me. She said she didn’t want her dog anymore and planned to take him to a shelter. That dog was Jax. He was completely matted, dirty, and his nails were so long he couldn’t even run properly. My heart broke the moment I saw him. I couldn’t let him go through another round of neglect or abandonment, so I took him home that same night. From that day on, I promised he’d never be unloved again.

For the first time in his life, Jax began to truly live. He learned what love feels like. He learned how to play, how to sleep safely next to his brothers, and how to trust. He’s gentle, shy, and you can see the gratitude in his eyes every single day.

Unfortunately, it turns out Jax had been sick for a long time, and his previous owner never took proper care of him or got him medical attention. After a few weeks with us, his health started to slowly deteriorate. He became quieter, lost his appetite, and began showing neurological symptoms. We took him to the vet right away, and that’s when we got the heartbreaking news.

Jax was diagnosed with a liver shunt, a condition where the blood in his body bypasses the liver, preventing it from filtering toxins properly. It’s a serious condition that causes confusion, nausea, and pain. His urine showed ammonium biurate crystals, confirming the diagnosis. He’s now on lifelong medication and a special prescription diet, but that will only manage the symptoms; it won’t cure the problem.

The only way for Jax to live a long, healthy life is through surgery, and before that, he needs an ultrasound that costs $600 to map out the shunt. The surgery itself will cost several thousand dollars, but it will give him the chance to finally have the future he deserves.

I’ve already spent everything I have on his vet visits, medication, and food, but I can’t give up on him. He’s finally happy, finally loved, and finally safe after years of being unwanted and mistreated. He just started living his real life 2–3 months ago, and I can’t let it end this way.

Please, if you can, help give Jax his chance to live. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward his ultrasound, treatment, and surgery.

Even just sharing this story helps more than you know. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, sharing, and caring. Jax deserves his miracle, and with your help, I believe he’ll get it.

With love,
Jenny, Wifi, Stitch, and Jax
