Hi! My name is Vrinda Chandnani and I'm the founder of The Vidya Project. Our mission is to empower the unprivileged by connecting communities across the world to enable equitable access to quality education. Our goal is to conduct fundraising events in the United States and allocate those funds to non-profits that help bridge the educational gap in India. The word Vidya (विद्या) comes from the Sanskrit root 'Vid,' meaning "to know" or "be aware." It represents the pursuit of knowledge, a mission central to the Vidya Project, which aims to provide educational opportunities to underprivileged children. This initiative is inspired by my great-grandmother Vidya, a resilient woman who, despite lacking formal education, ensured her descendants were well-educated. Her strength and determination are the foundation of this project. We strive to pass on her legacy by spreading knowledge fairly and equitably and giving back to society through education.
