Most people never imagine stroke touching their life. Let alone twice, in the same family.
When I was just 14 years old, I suffered a stroke caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) (pictured on the left). Overnight, my childhood changed. I had to relearn parts of life that others take for granted. My strength, my confidence, and my future all suddenly felt uncertain.
Just when we thought our family had survived the unimaginable, in August 2024 my dad suffered a stroke too.
Watching him go through the same fear, confusion and road of recovery I once faced has been heartbreaking. No family should have to live this story, yet thousands do, every single year.
We are fundraising to support The Stroke Association. They help people rebuild their lives through rehabilitation and emotional support as well as preventing more families from experiencing what we have experienced.
This fundraiser isn’t just about money.
It’s about awareness.
It’s about hope.
And it’s about making sure stroke survivors and their families never feel alone.
If our story moves you, please consider donating or sharing this page. Your kindness will help turn survival into recovery for others who need it most.
