Support Eugene's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
We are raising funds on behalf of Eugene Stillman, who is currently fighting stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. As the new year approaches, Eugene must meet his $10,000 deductible to continue receiving the treatment he urgently needs. We’re coming together as a community to help him cross this crucial threshold.

Eugene has been a beloved and recognizable presence in Warrensburg for decades. Known for his kindness, warmth and ability to make anyone feel like a friend, he has always poured his heart into serving others. He spent 20 years as a campus advocate for students at the University of Central Missouri, offering support, guidance and encouragement before retiring. Now, it’s our turn to support him.

Every contribution, large or small, helps Eugene continue his fight. Thank you for standing with him and showing the love he has always shown to others.

EUGENE’S CANCER STORY:
Eugene Stillman's fight against cancer began in early September, 2024. While visiting friends in Mexico, Eugene was experiencing pain in his hip and consequently, went to a local health clinic for a full-body check-up. The doctor examining Eugene noticed his PSA levels were extremely high and urged him to visit his doctor as soon as he returned to the USA. He followed this advice and shortly after his return to the USA, he saw his primary caretaker and was informed that he had stage four Prostate cancer which had unfortunately already spread to his bones.

Following his cancer diagnosis, Eugene met with an oncologist and began cancer treatment which included chemotherapy with early results being very positive. The specific type of chemotherapy prescribed was called "Taxider" and as hoped, successfully lowered his PSA level. Also, the ongoing pain he had in his torso area was being managed effectively through an assortment of pain pills. At this point in time, Eugene's cancer management seemed very promising. Unfortunately, this optimism took a step backwards approximately one year later.

In November, 2025, Eugene's Prostate cancer which had spread to his bones had now spread to his liver. Though his PSA level remained low, his cancer was spreading aggressively which was an unexpected development. A liver biopsy was conducted to analyze both the type and nature of his liver cancer and also to determine best treatment options. Upon review, Eugene's oncologist found that the cancer in his liver had "transformed" into a much more aggressive cancer called Small Cell Carcinoma. Unfortunately, not only is this cancer cell transformation very rare, but also much more aggressive and found most frequently among African Americans.

Now, there is added concern about this particular cancer spreading to his brain. Thus, a brain scan was requested. Also, to reduce bone pain due to cancer found in Eugene's torso area, radiation treatment designed to target specific areas of pain in and around Eugene's back and hips began in December 2025 and will continue through 2026 as needed. These treatments, along with cancer treatments currently in place, complement Eugene's chemotherapy and will need to continue in January 2026. The chemotherapy Eugene is now taking is called Carboplatin and has proven effective in slowing down the spread of Small Cell Carcinoma. Eugene will complete two of six essential chemo sessions in December 2025. The remaining four sessions will take place in 2026.

In addition, Eugene's oncologist is presently seeking insurance approval to proceed with an aggressive cancer tumor shrinking procedure called Radioembolization. This particular treatment involves the precise placement of microscopic, radioactive, time released beads directly into Eugene's liver. Radioembolization treat-ment, when combined with Carboplatin Chemotherapy, have shown positive results in fighting Eugene's very aggressive Small Cell Carcinoma cancer.

NOTE: All essential cancer treatments needed for Eugene to defeat his cancers will need to either begin or continue in 2026. But, cancer treatment is expensive and can only continue if Eugene is able to meet his 2026 annual $10,000 insurance deductible. So, please show your support for Eugene and help him defeat his cancer with a donation.
