Lily’s Medical Expenses

I have created this Go Fund Me Page for my friend Lisa as her 14-year-old daughter Lily undergoes surgery tomorrow. Due to the nature of her surgery the family are not able to go through the public system as this would require a wait of 30 days or more, as a result Lily will be having surgery tomorrow through the private system. The surgeon stated on Thursday that Lily’s surgery must be immediate. This is going to be an extreme financial drain on the family. I am aiming to raise $12,000 to contribute to their expenses. Lisa has provided us some information below about Lily’s condition.

We wanted to share some important news. This week, our daughter is going in for major surgery to remove a mass on her neck, about the size of a mandarin.

The growth has been rapid and concerning, and after a recent MRI, her doctors advised that it needs to be removed immediately.

Unfortunately, the public system wait time is 30 days, which is too long given how quickly it's progressing — so we’ve made the difficult decision to move ahead privately to get her the care she needs now.

As some of you may remember, she has a complex medical history — three years ago, she was hospitalised with long COVID and eventually ended up in the ICU with sepsis and toxic shock syndrome. She fought hard and pulled through back then, and we’re standing strong with her again now.
