In November of 2024, George had back surgery. After five days of being home, he was life-flighted to Pittsburgh for an emergency surgery, which left him paralyzed from the chest down. After five months in the hospital, George got to come home.

But now he needs a mobility van for doctor appointments and for getting out and about. He served in the Coast Guard for four years and was a railroader for 27 years. He was always really active with his wife, four children, and ten grandchildren.

It has been mentally hard because he was so active. So this van will be a huge help for his mental well-being and health. We have help from the V.A., but it doesn't cover everything. We are short by $46,000. Any amount will help. Thank you for your generosity.
