Oliver, my sweet and gentle cat, recently had to undergo surgery for a painful urinary tract infection. What started as subtle discomfort turned into something much more serious, and seeing him struggle broke my heart. He was initially misdiagnosed. He’s always been a quiet source of comfort to anyone he meets. Curling up beside me on hard days, purring like everything would be okay. Pulling me in for kisses and hugs. This time, it was my turn to be strong for him. Watching him go into surgery, unsure and frightened, was one of the hardest things I’ve faced. He’s fighting his way back with all the courage packed into his little body, and every small sign of recovery feels like a miracle. He’s been so brave. We’re not out of the woods yet.
