Support Jessica's Fight Against Lymphoma

My beautiful daughter Jessica is 38 years old and a dog mom to Jasmine, her rescue of several years. After struggling increasingly in the last two years with active symptoms, she has recently been diagnosed with Lymphoma with bone marrow and spleen involvement likely.

Jessica is entering a season of intense treatment, which still includes a third lymph node biopsy and a bone marrow biopsy. These additional biopsies are needed to assess additional abnormal cells, as well as to define the type of chemotherapy that she will be receiving. We are hoping that she can start this as soon as possible.

There are still many unknowns, but in many ways, Jessica has been living with the effects of her diagnosis for over a year now. Her level of functioning has become very low due to excessive pain and fatigue, yet she continues to try to work as she is able. Her season of suffering without a diagnosis or treatment has been long. Because of this, she has been experiencing increasing financial setbacks.

In addition to her newly diagnosed cancer, Jessica has struggled with varying levels of mental health conditions since her father’s tragic death when she was 19 years old. For half of her life, she has worked hard to overcome the effects of this trauma, and her healing journey continues.

Despite these obstacles, we have a young woman who is compassionate and giving. Jessica has chosen the road less traveled, that of advocating for those who have no voice. She thinks of others before she thinks of herself. She has been drawn to and worked for nonprofit organizations for most of her career. She will go the extra mile to help those who are hurting. Her recreational time includes volunteering to help the unfortunate, both people and animals. Jessica’s strong faith is what fuels her compassion, and it motivates her to keep going. She lives a simple life, unencumbered by the trappings of this world.

Now it’s our turn to be a champion for Jessica! Our family humbly asks for your help and support as she navigates through this chapter in her life: receiving instead of giving. There are still many unknowns, but funds are needed to alleviate the financial burdens of continued treatment for several months, including travel, medical, and everyday expenses.
