The Cummings Family has a strong Christian Faith. Bryan and Stacey have been married for almost 20 years. They have 3 children. Their daughter, Bailey, who will soon be 23-years old and their 16-year-old twin boys Colby and Cadan. Bailey is a recent graduate from a local University and their boys are juniors at a local High School. Bryan and Stacey are very involved in their church. They are mentors on many levels and strong advocates for marriage preparations and life coaches for engaged couples, newlyweds, as well as those with many years of marriage. The Cummings Family are true examples of Stewards of God.
On June 11th, 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the family received news that Bryan was diagnosed with Stage IV Prostate Cancer. The cancer had already metastasized to the bones of his ribs, spine, pelvis, and hips. Bryan did 10 rounds of radiation treatment during the summer of 2020, followed by a course of chemotherapy. The family experienced the expected ups and downs of cancer treatment but overall the medical team was optimistic. November 2020, the family celebrated the completion of chemo and began preparing for the Christmas 2020 season.
In early February 2021, Bryan was approved for Immunotherapy (a cancer treatment that uses the power of the body's own immune system to prevent, control, and eliminate cancer). He finished immunotherapy in early April, however this treatment wasn’t as effective as they all hoped.
In May 2021, the family celebrated Bailey’s college graduation and continued to cheer on Colby and Cadan as they played soccer (one of Bryan’s favorite pastimes).
The treatment for each patients’ cancer is unique and individualized and no one knows how the course will play out. There are ups and downs along the way, and throughout all of this, the family has continued to remain positive and focused on their family and making life be “as normal” as possible.
With the beginning of the 2021 Christmas Season and the looming winter there continues to be many life challenges.
We are hopeful this go fund me page helps by alleviating some of the finacial burdens associated with Bryan’s illness.
This money can be used to off set the unexpected medical bills, make possible home renovations such as the installation of ramps or the widening of doorways to accommodate mobility aides, or be used for any other household or personal needs which may arise. Please consider donating to this fund.
