My names is James, I am 25 and I am saving to get a double mastectomy, or rather top surgery. I have struggled with being transgender since I can remember.
I grew up not understanding why I felt so different. Even as a kid, I would think to myself that I would have been happier if I was born a guy. It was even a joke with friends in high school that if I could switch bodies with a male, I'd never switch back. I was in denial for a long time until college, where I learned that I wasn't alone and that I wasn't so weird after all.
I have been going to gender therapy for two years, and have been taking hormones for 13 months now. I consider this to be the next step in my journey to be not only more comfortable with myself, but to be the person that I want others to see.
I have been looking into different doctors (mostly in the Boston area) and if there are any recommendations, I would love to hear them. There are a few that I have in mind, but I have yet to meet with anyone personally.
This is to help me keep track of my own money, and where I will accept donations from those willing and able. If someone is willing to help me in this endeavor, every dollar counts and I would be so grateful.
I don't have much that I can give outside of a very genuine "thank you" and a promise to lend you a hand if you ever need it! Maybe I'll send you a card or a doodle, just something to show my appreciation.
