Support Peter's Journey to Recovery!

Our sweet Peter made it through his first spinal surgery this year on February 13th! The surgery was a success, correcting his severe 90-degree scoliosis curve. After 5 nights in the PICU, he finally came home to his big brother and sister, and continues to recover remarkably well. He is now 5" taller than before his surgery!
His truly unbeatable mother, our sister Shannon, fought tooth and nail against their insurance company to finally have this procedure approved. Originally scheduled in January, they received multiple denials and setbacks, ultimately resulting in additional medical complications and expenses, as well as a significant extension of Shannon's unpaid leave of absence from work (nearly 10 weeks total). Please consider helping Shannon and her family recover from the financial losses incurred by insurance battles and delays!
Peter also continues to be in need of ongoing medical expenses and support outside the purview of insurance. One major expense currently on the horizon is a van to accommodate his powerchair. Donate additional funds to support his new ride!
We deeply appreciate your support for our sister and mother extraordinaire - to not just one but three precious children - in her ongoing care for Peter, whose side she has not left since their first day together. Any and all contributions are most welcome, and will be received by more than one heart filled with gratitude.
For those who don't know, Peter is an amazing 5 year old who has beaten the odds after a fatal diagnosis at birth. His life expectancy was originally 6 months due to his genetic disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 0/1. Due to recent life-saving medical advances in SMA and outstanding care from his medical team and family, Peter will be celebrating many, many more birthdays!
Thank you for considering!
