Hey friends,
My name is Katie Simmons and I have come to ask for your help. On January 11th of this year, I fell and fractured my left knee in multiple places and will need surgery to correct it. I have been working in hospitality for the last 7 years and now with this injury, I am left unable to work. I am now suddenly left with no income coming in and no way to pay for my living expenses. I am in desperate need of help, friends. I am in fear of losing my apartment and being left with no place to live as I navigate my surgery and my recovery. I will be out of work for the next 8-12 weeks and need to be able to cover my expenses for that period. Please, any donation, any share is so so incredibly helpful and I am so grateful to be surrounded by people who are so good. Please help me keep my home while I heal. Thank you so much for taking the time to be with me in this moment, I am very thankful to you.
Katie
My good friend Kristin Brown helped me put together this Go Fund Me and wanted to share the following:
You know people who've impacted your life in a lasting and profound way: Compassionate by nature, organically think of others, always a kind word or whose thoughtfulness consistently moves you?
Katie Simmons is such a person. Although Katie and I have only known each other for 9 months, she's a dear and kindred spirit. Her kindness to my daughter and I have brought me to tears more than once.
Katie recently sustained a terrible knee injury and has to undergo reconstructive surgery. As a waitress, she has no medical insurance and no medical leave.
This GoFundMe has been created to remind Katie she's fully supported! Any amount you're able to give is a great blessing. Truly. No amount is too small. All the funds will go towards Katie's medical bills and urgent living expenses of rent and food. Although you may not know Katie, you know people like her, and you know the immeasurable reward a simple kindness brings. If you are unable to give with funds, sharing this campaign with your circle of friends is equally generous.
My sincere gratitude- Thank you!
Kristin
