As some of you may know…

during a recent walk with Luna, we let her and her brother, Banksy, play at a nearby park. Not even 2 minutes into playing, Luna started yelping and whining and ran over to me. She couldn’t put weight on her back right leg. We carried her to the car where we then took her home to rest and gave her some Rimadyl (doggy-profen). It didn’t do much so we monitored her and waited for the doctor to give us a call. Unfortunately, her primary doctor was not available and we had to take her to the emergency vet in Mountain View. They mentioned their findings were consistent with a cranial cruciate ligament tear and to follow up with Luna’s primary doctor the following day.

On Monday June 9th, we took her in and her doctor confirmed the previous findings of a cranial cruciate ligament tear, a full tear.

She gave us 2 options, pain management/custom knee brace or surgery. The surgery minimum cost to repair a CCL, is $7000, not including post meds, post care, physical therapy, etc. and the custom made brace from Posh, was $1000.

We would like to expedite this healing journey for her, as she already has arthritis in her neck/back and is considered a senior dog. We really just want the years she has left to be the best ones.

I know $10,000 is asking for a lot, but anything helps and will assist Luna on her road to recovery.
