Hello Potential Education Supporter,

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Briayna Cuffie. I am a senior International Relations major and Anthropology minor at High Point University. After graduation, I plan to pursue a Master of Science degree in Information Technology, with a focus in Homeland Security. I have varying levels of proficiency in three languages: English, Spanish, and Arabic. The latter two, I continue to strengthen and polish in my free time. I aspire to have a career within the federal government, in intelligence and counterterrorism.

My experience thus far at HPU has been filled with extraordinary academic, work, and internship experiences. I currently continue to work as a Campus Concierge, serving students, families, faculty/staff, and visitors, a Bonner Leader, of which I am a part of the inaugural cohort on our campus, a Career Peer Peer Ambassador, assisting fellow students with their professional development, and an active member of my campus Civitan group.

I have completed four internships in the past two years; three here in the Piedmont Triad area, and one in my hometown of Annapolis, Maryland. In addition to my commitment to these positions, I have continued to focus on my academics, and have been able to maintain a 3.1 grade point average.

As previously stated, I am a very involved student, and could not have chosen a better university to thrive personally, academically, and professionally. In October of 2013, I was named an Extraordinary Leader on campus. This honor is awarded to outstanding students each month of the academic year. The entire HPU community – students, faculty and staff, make nominations, and the nominees are asked to complete a survey about their academic, social and charitable involvement on campus and in the community. A committee of HPU administrators selects the students who embody true leadership.

In recognition of my commitment and community involvement, I have been featured in multiple press/media releases. They can be found on the university's website www.highpoint.edu, and searching my name in the search bar at the top right-hand side of the website.

In this final stretch of my undergraduate career, finances have become tighter than ever. So much so, that I had to make the decision to be a commuter student for my final year. Even after exhausting government loans, grants, scholarship funds, and private loans in addition to working two on-campus jobs during the school year, and a part-time job during the summer, it is still difficult to make ends meet for my final semester. In the grand view of my academic financial needs, I do not owe much, but it is a substantial amount. If they were able, I know my parents would gladly support me during this time of financial uncertainty. While we all wish this was the case,  we have come to terms with the fact that this is not the reality.

I have spent my entire life constantly holding myself to higher standards, and developing and exhibiting an extraordinary work ethic. I hope that in reading my profile, you find that I am a young woman with great potential, and that you are able to aid me in finishing my last semester of my undergraduate career.

Thank you for your time and care! If you would like to see my professional development, skills, and media releases, please view my personal website , or my LinkedIn profile . Should you have any questions, feel free to message me (I am a prompt responder)!
