Aimée means "to love", and love is something Aimée gives with wild abandon. She adores her family and loves her friends, her students, her pets, all animals, even that random pigeon on the street-- like family. She's the most thoughtful and caring person you'll ever meet. I'm Aimée's friend and former roommate of many years, and in between teaching, dancing, and music gigs, she volunteered at Toronto Wildlife Rescue. We regularly had an injured squirrel or bird in a box waiting for Aimée to take it to the shelter. She's also funny, talented, and ridiculously inspiring. She has the voice of an angel-turned-vixen, she dances like a goddess, and she's one feisty little Italian vegetarian.

Four months ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Which was only a year after she had been diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder that makes her hands swell and fingers bleed, a really crappy thing for a piano-playing musician. She has survived four months of chemotherapy, next is surgery and then, radiation...

I'm joined by her amazing brothers, Ross, Elliot and Max to make a place where we can support Aimée with cold, hard cash. Because love won't cure cancer. Or hey, maybe it can, but it won't pay for all the medication, supplements, bills, missed work, wigs, and vegan cheese. (that stuff is expensive!)
