My beautiful niece Blair Worden Thompson, a single mother with three beautiful daughters, suffered a traumatic brain injury on September 29th, 2019 in an automobile accident. She spent weeks in ICU and has overcome significant internal injuries – 3 cracked vertebrae, a lacerated spleen, pneumonia, a torn diaphragm - she is off the ventilator and is breathing on her own. Blair has had numerous CT scans and an EEG that shows plenty of brain activity. She can move her limbs and she is awake but not aware. She can follow you with her eyes and when you say her name she looks at you but does not respond to commands.
At the end of this month Blair will no longer be employed as her Family Medical Leave Act will expire. She will have to convert to Cobra insurance which is very costly. Blair is currently in a long-term care unit but has now been accepted by TX Neuro Rehab located in Austin which is a cutting-edge facility that works with patients who have suffered brain injuries. We are now waiting on Blair’s insurance to approve the transfer so she can begin the rehabilitation process.
The journey ahead is overwhelming. We believe in faith that God has healed her but Blair needs to be able to continue with her insurance so she can receive the care she needs to regain her life. Our hope is the love and generosity of others will cover all her needs for treatment. If you are not able to donate, then please join us in prayer and share this with your friends so that we can bless Blair and her children in their time of need!
“We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.” Psalms 33:20-22
Thank you so much and God bless!
