Justice for Caddy

Dear Friends,
I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart, seeking support for a cause very close to me. Last year, I experienced a tragic event involving my beloved companion, Caddy, that has spurred me into action.
Caddy wasn't just a pet; he was my certified emotional support animal, providing me with invaluable comfort and companionship. Tragically, at just two years old, he passed away under circumstances that have left me shattered.
In March 2023, Caddy ingested something harmful, leading to a frantic rush to the emergency vet in Brick. Despite our best efforts and the promises of care, the night turned into a nightmare. Miscommunications and negligence resulted in Caddy's untimely death, leaving me with nothing but anguish and unanswered questions.
My quest for justice has led me to file a lawsuit in Ocean County, with the assistance of The Animal Law Firm. Yet, I've encountered a heartbreaking hurdle – New Jersey law fails to recognize the emotional distress caused by the loss of an animal. In the eyes of the law, our beloved pets are considered mere property.
But I refuse to accept this injustice. My goal is to advocate for a change in New Jersey law, ensuring that all who suffer emotional distress due to the loss of a pet can seek rightful compensation. No one should endure the pain of losing a cherished companion without recourse for their suffering.
Already, I've invested $10,000 in legal fees, with more looming on the horizon should this battle continue to trial. I am humbly asking for your support in this fight for justice – not just for Caddy, but for all the beloved pets in New Jersey who deserve recognition beyond mere property.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in our pursuit of justice. Additionally, if you or someone you know has faced similar hardships due to veterinary malpractice, please reach out to me. Together, we can make our voices heard and enact meaningful change.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering my plea. Your kindness and generosity will forever be remembered.
With gratitude,
