Helping Sheri
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sarah, a long-term girlfriend of Garret- Sheri Longstaff's son. I am starting this GoFundMe page with the help and support of many close friends and relatives. Sheri is a woman we all love, a great friend with a huge heart, and is always there when you need her.
In August of 2023, she went to DR for her routine well visit, felt great, and never would have imagined the outcome of the visit. Then came an alarming result, she went for blood work and soon after was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. By September, she was sent to the University of Penn for the first of many month-long visits to endure aggressive chemotherapy treatments. It has now been 6 months since the diagnosis and fighting this horrible disease. The fight has taken all she has and more after. We are starting this fundraiser for Sheri, due to costs for medical insurance and medical bills for hospital stays.
Sheri has not been able to continue working since August 2023, her full-time job now is this fight. It has taken Sheri everything she has but last month was shown the results of a count of 0 cancer cells! This took 7 months for Sheri. She has 2 more months of treatment to increase the success of the cancer never coming back. She knows it can and we pray a complete success so she can return to work in a few months.
Cancer has taken more than she has, along with her hair, her strength, her time, and every dollar she has saved.
To know her, you know it was never easy being a single mother of 3 boys. She is the type who is always there when you need her and would give her last dollar to a stranger in need if she could. She always shows grace and appreciation for anyone in her circle, and her saying of "It takes a village". This may be a saying related to raising children, but right now Sheri needs that village of friends and loved ones who can provide support during this time and hopefully the last couple of months of this battle. We hope Sheri will be cancer-free, regrow her hair, regain her strength, rejoin us all in living life to the fullest, and be back to work.
Please donate to this fund for Sheri, to help her pay medical bills and health insurance until this battle is over. Any support, if so greatly appreciated beyond words, and no amount is too small or too big.
Let's show Sheri how big this village is!
