Give Buddy a Second Chance at Life
Donation protected
To Whom It May Concern,
My wife Camille and I recently took in our late neighbor's dog, Buddy. Our neighbor, Mark, lost his life this past Tuesday morning on his way to work after hitting a tree off of Center Hill Road while attempting to pass another vehicle. Buddy meant the world to Mark. Buddy always got along with our two other boxers, Cora and Zeke and always enjoyed play dates with our doggies. Anyway, with Mark sons', Shannon's permission, Camille and I have volunteered to help foster Buddy in the meantime until we can find him a new permanent home.
Buddy is in relatively decent health but has suffered from some form of abdominal Hernia that has needed repair for some time now. We know that Mark was saving up money to pay for the surgery but never got around to it. My wife and I are looking for a veterinarian in the area that is able to perform the surgery at a reasonable cost. We have spoken with several neighbors who have offered some financial assistance to get this surgery completed in a timely fashion. We understand the Marshall County Humane Society is taping their resources as well to see what kind of assistance would be possible.
If we can get Buddy's hernia repaired and get him fixed, Camille and I are confident that we can find Buddy a good home. This would mean the world to Mark if he were here and we know it is what's best for Buddy. The only other option we have would be to have Buddy put down. We really don't feel like this would be fair to Buddy. He is an older dog but he's spry enough to jump on a bed or couch and loves to play. He is good around other dogs and would make an excellent companion for a disabled veteran or elderly individual. Mark was survived by his Son, Shannon, and daughter whom we have never met. Shannon and his wife recently welcomed their first child and are simply unable to foster a dog at this time. Any financial help or donations would be much appreciated and would go a long way to helping Buddy make the transition to a new home. If there is anything anyone can do we would be so grateful and appreciative.
Thanks,
Camille and Arthur Crum
