Riley Park is our neighborhood park in Des Moines, IA (53rd and Urbandale Ave), that we think of as our dog park although it is not designated as a dog park. Thus, there is no pet drinking fountain which is desperately needed.
My boy, Malibu, loved going to the park as that is where we made two- and four-legged lifelong friends. He always wanted to go to the park even when he couldn't walk anymore as that is where he made friends on a daily basis whether it was a small child who wanted to pet him from the playground area, or where he would see his regular friends. He is missed by all of his friends.
To keep Malibu's memory alive of making friends at the park, I have worked with the Parks and Recreation Dept (City of Des Moines) and have approval for the installation of a people/pet drinking fountain. In addition to the pet fountain, there will also be a jug filler added. The fountain then can be used to fill jugs/water bottles from the children playing recreation soccer to the bikers on the bike path to those that rent the gazebo for picnics/parties. So a multi-functional fountain.
Any contributions to the goal would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and God Bless.
