Helping Corey Hitchcock Heal

Hello Friends,

Corey is a long time friend and Zen collaborator. In the last couple months it became apparent that her health was not good. On Monday (12/4) she had exploratory surgery at UC Davis Medical Center, several biopsies were taken, and the oncology surgeons determined she has cancer in her abdominal cavity, and that it is at several locations. We are currently waiting for the pathology results to determine cancer type so that appropriate treatment can begin.

Whatever the appropriate treatment is, Corey's road will not be brief or easy. She is supported by her daughter and her two sisters. Emlyn, Corey's daughter, is taking the lead in advising and supporting Corey, and she herself has a seven year old daughter. She is a single mom supporting herself, so our support can help her be able to care for her mom.

Corey's sister Jenny has generously offered her home for Corey's further treatment and recovery. The funds we raise can also help defray all the costs of helping someone recover from serious cancer.

Corey has spent her adult life pursuing paths that do not tend to generate substantial wealth. Artists tend toward poverty - for the sake of others. She earns her daily bread currently by being a heart-center of Pacific Zen Institute. Her paw prints are all over the PZI web presence. Her loving paw prints are also all over those of us she has graced with her presence.
