Fred’s vet bills

Hi all.
If you know me, you know that I have loved reptiles since the day I was born. Fred my bearded dragon came into my life when I was merely 10 years old. He has been by my side all through my most significant achievements in life so far - Graduating primary and high school, various performing achievements, my first serious relationship, my ups and downs - we’ve been through it all together. I would take him to the mall on my shoulder and enjoy people asking ‘is that real!?’, take him on little strolls in my backyard and even trick or treating.
Skip forward almost 9 years, and here we are. Lately, my baby has been showing quite a few signs of a decline. He stopped eating, his muscles are wearing thin and he’s getting weaker. This breaks my heart and obviously I want to do whatever I can to help him live out the rest of his life as pain free as I can. A recent trip to the vet however made me realise that this is unfortunately a harder reality than i realised. To book him and have an X-ray alone, drained me $568 and therefore, most of my bank account and savings.
I suppose this is where I reach out to you. I am not sure how much more I will be charged in medications and other medical services as they suspect he has a bone condition and have also noticed a lump in his stomach. I’m gonna need a bit of help with it all. If you are able to send even a dollar, it would mean the world. I don’t know how much it will all be, but if I at least still have a few dollars left to buy some christmas presents for my family, that would be enough.
I love you all, thank you for reading if you got this far.
Love, Kate.
