Hello All -
The West Family was recently involved in a vehicle accident as they were headed home after picking their kids up from school. They hit the bank of a drainage canal in three different sections going off the road. Thankfully, they had all the kids as safely buckled as they could be and only Kaleah (daughter), Kyle (dad) and Casey (mom) were injured. All the kids were taken by ambulance to Chico to be looked at and Kaleah was flown to U.C. Davis. She had a concussion and had to have CT scans done. They kept her for 24hr observation. Kyle broke his femur and had surgery on it. He has a bar going from his hip to his knee. Casey broke her back and had surgery on that. They fused two of her discs together and put in rods and screws. The seat belt also perforated her intestines which resulted in another surgery to fix the holes.
The family is home and recovering now. Kyle and Casey are very hard working parents and have always provided for their children. Although they have medical insurance, not all costs will be covered. In addition they still have living expenses and getting back and forth to follow up appointments to cover. The severity of their injuries clearly will not allow for a prompt return to work. The gap in between is a tremendous stress at a very unneeded time. This is their biggest obstacle right now. Casey's job requires repetitive bending, so even as she heals working will be very difficult and painful for her.
I am asking that you join me in helping to fill that financial gap for this family. Kyle and Casey are very generous individuals and very good friends of mine. They have paid it forward many times and in many ways to others. Anyone who has ever come upon unexpected life events knows how much this will help them. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please consider giving what you are able to. Every little bit helps.
