A Service Dog for Kristen
Donation protected
This fundraiser is for my friend Kristen. Recently, Kristen had to say goodbye to her beloved friend of 17 years, Gio. And, because Kristen has Cerebral Palsy, she needs a new friend who can help her get through her day safely and with companionship.
Novacek’s 84 Labradoodles is working with Kristen to acquire a service dog that is specially trained to help her. They raise Labradoodles specifically to become service dogs and then work with expert trainers to teach the selected dog how to help Kristen on a daily basis.
Raising and training these specialty dogs is very expensive and very worth it. Considering how many experts are involved, and how many months it takes to breed, raise and train a specialized service dog, that can help Kristen for many years, the costs are understandable. And, the Novaceks (if you are a Dallas Cowboys fan, you might recognize the name) are trying hard to keep the costs down for Kristen. Buddy was $6,000 to acquire, and he is $17,000 to train.
Kristen is a hard-working Therapist who helps others every day. And, she has not only been without Gio for almost a year, she has been isolated in her apartment without help or companionship during these difficult few months of quarantine because Kristen is in a high-risk category for COVID-19 complications. I would like to help her by sharing her need with you, and I would like to ask you to help her, too.
We started this fundraiser in September of 2019, and THANKS to so many, we raised the money needed to acquire Buddy and begin his training. But, we need to pay for the rest of his training and help get Buddy to Kristen as soon as possible. So, the need is immediate, ongoing, and any amount will help. And, if you can't help financially, please share this with others, and be sure to send Kristen some positive thoughts that her new Buddy will be wagging her way soon.
Thanks for your generosity,
