My Car Got Stolen!!!

The situation: My car got stolen right out of my building’s parking lot on a random weeknight. My insurance I pay $200/month for is offering me all of nothing, no loaner car, no money, nothing. Police are surprise, surprise also doing nothing even though I have the theft on camera

Context: I’m a student and hourly wage worker on a tight income. I commute everyday between the city and suburbs for work and school which is a long ass drive and even longer, more expensive, and inconvenient by transit/rideshare. My partner and I rely on the car to get groceries, run errands, see family, and pretty much everything

What I Need: Short term getting from point A to point B with the CTA, Lyfts, and Metra which are all a big added cost I totally didn’t anticipate. Long term replacing my car which is massively expensive especially having just emptied out my savings for grad school
