Dwayne's Recovery

Hi, my name is Dwayne and I am fund raising for myself and my spouse as I am in recovery trying to get spiritually fit to better my life. I've been in recovery since March 18th, 2025 and I have been clean and serene as I am continuing my journey in life one day at a time. I am in a Ministry funded Recovery Centre so with that I am only receiving a living allowance aka comfort allowance which is not much. My basic needs are being met at the moment so with this I am trying to get a collective together for carving tools, cellphone and to put away funds for a place to live after my graduation here with the Recovery centre. I am looking forward to continuing my journey in life remaining absinent from my addiction and I do want to begin investing in myself while maintaining sobriety. I also have been homeless for the past few years due to my mental health and losing to this disease of alcoholism I have made a fearless decision to turn my care and life over to the care of the creator. I have a temporary sponsor and I attend 4+ meetings a week and have programming Mon-Fri with regular chores such as a simple thing of making my bed evey morning, prayer, meditation, talking to my sponsor daily and I am looking to find a service position to give back. I also never intend to go back to my old ways so with this through the book I live with and my higher power tells me if I live with these principles I can remain absinent from my addiction, if I keep my spiritual battery full that the gifts of recovery are coming. I am a proud First Nation man from Tofino BC Canada. I have never seen my life going into a downward spiral until it did then I surrendered to this simple program so freely offered and one day I hope that I can give back to the next person who takes these steps offered if they would be so willing to take these steps alot of us have made a decision to take our lives back which have restored honesty, faith, hope, courage and willingness just to name a few. I am also a father, son and proud recovering addict.
