A year ago my friend/sister Judie who I have known since the fourth grade, was in a very bad motorcycle accident. In this accident she suffered a broken femur, ribs, wrist, shattered pelvis, lacerated her spleen, bladder damage and has major nerve damage. She was unable to walk for 4 months and has had many surgeries since then. The driver that caused the hit is unable to cover costs due to a poor insurance plan with no assets. This left Judie covering hospital bills out of her own pocket. She’s doing the best with her circumstance, but has many bills piling up. Not everyone will ask for help when necessary, even when they need it most—Judie is one of those people. She has always offered sincerity to others, expecting nothing in return. Behind her smile is extreme pain from everyday challenges caused from the accident. Despite it all, Judie continues to be strong and positive. Due to this unfortunate event, Judie is paying hospital bills and medical supplies that may possibly last a lifetime. She has another big surgery coming up that will cost her close to $10,000.
