Cheryl Ann McLain DeGeest, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 8, 2025. She tragically passed away in a vehicle–bicyclist crash. Her loss was sudden and unexpected, leaving her family heartbroken and facing significant financial burdens.
She was known for her unwavering strength, her warm heart, and the quiet wisdom she shared with everyone lucky enough to know her. Her laughter could soften the hardest days, and her compassion made others feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her legacy lives on in the kindness she taught, the traditions she cherished, and the love she gave. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit and the memories she leaves behind will continue to guide and comfort all who held her dear.
Cheryl is survived by her children — Duston, Braydon, and Kyley — her grandsons Jude and Haydon, her former spouse Brandon DeGeest, and extended family and friends. As the last surviving member of her McLain family, the responsibility of handling her arrangements and navigating the unanswered questions surrounding her death now falls entirely on her children.
Cheryl wasn’t perfect, but she was present. She made her family laugh, helped when she could, and always made it to dinner. Her family is now humbly asking for support to cover memorial costs, unexpected expenses, and the difficulties that come with such a sudden loss.
Any donation, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping honor Cheryl’s memory and supporting her family during this painful time.
