Just three weeks after giving birth, Sara saw masked men coming to her door, that moment - changed everything. Her husband, Yomi was taken by ICE — leaving her alone with a newborn, 3 young boys, no income, and little support in the critical post-partum time.
Now, instead of bonding with her baby, she is facing eviction, typical bills, and the fear of navigating this new motherhood journey alone. Yomi was the breadwinner of her home.
Sara is one of many mothers in Portland whose families are being torn apart by ICE. She’s doing everything she can to stay strong — caring for her baby, pumping milk through the night, and trying to find legal help for her husband — but no one should have to do this alone.
Why We’re Raising Funds
This fundraiser will help cover:
- Rent & basic bills while she stabilizes
- Baby supplies like diapers, wipes, and formula
- Legal support to help bring her husband home
- Postpartum care & meals from local doulas and volunteers
Our first goal is $10,000, which will help her stay housed and supported for the next two months while she rebuilds her foundation.
How You Can Help
Donate what you can. Every dollar counts.
Share her story. Post it on social media, text it to friends, or tell your community.
Stand with Sara. ICE separation isn’t just a headline — it’s happening to families right here in our neighborhoods.
Please give, share, and help us hold this family together.
Your kindness will make sure this mom can focus on what matters most — healing, feeding her baby, and finding a way forward.
