On Saturday, February 26th, Joshua B. Roberts was found deceased in his home by his sister, Lula Roberts-Bennett, niece Tracy Bennett and local authorities. Joshua’s sister and closest surviving relative/next of kin, Lula Roberts Bennett legally requested an autopsy but his body was cremated without her consent. We as a family (sister, Lula Roberts-Bennett, nieces, Tracy Bennett, Sheena Roberts, Alicia Roberts Curtis, Mattie Grace Roberts Pearl, Lueveria Roberts Huerta, nephews, Will Roberts Jr., Maurice Roberts and Enoch Roberts) have obtained an attorney to investigate the events of his death and estate. We have a high degree of confidence that his death was a result of foul play and fraud.

 

We are seeking justice for Joshua and understand this will be a lengthy legal process. We are asking for prayer and financial support to fight this legal battle and hold all those involved accountable.

 

Joshua B. Roberts, our dear brother and uncle, was a hard-working man. After a 30-year career at Xerox, Joshua retired and moved back to Poplar Bluff, MO. where he purchased land and a beautiful home. Joshua was one of the few black landowners in Butler County. He was proud of his accomplishments and the Roberts family legacy. We appreciate anything you can do to help us obtain Justice for Joshua.
