My wonderful Autumn is having a lot of difficulties with her health and we have been trying to navigate these challenging waters together. However, with the recent health problems, I really need your help now. There have just been too many bumps in the road and as hard as it is, I need to ask for help. Autumn is my world and my family (I’ve lost most of my family and Autumn truly is my world). I will do anything to help her feel better.
She is an amazing St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog and spreads smiles and love wherever she goes. She has volunteered in nursing homes, with children in need, victims of crime, special events and more. She has brought joy to so many lives and made such a positive difference in this world.
She has always been a happy girl who loves to play fetch, swim, hike and make others smile. She has been such a trooper and an inspiration to so many! She has continued to be such a happy and wonderful dog, despite the many challenges we’ve had over the past few months.
Autumn had TPLO (knee) surgery in September and has been in rehabilitation for a few months (hydrotherapy, laser therapy, massage/physio) in order to get back her strength and begin volunteering again. She was doing so well! The cost of this has been significant, even with the help of some pet insurance. It’s cost well over $7000 for this alone.
However, things have changed drastically over the past 48 hours. She has had difficulty breathing, swallowing solid food, an upset tummy and some swollen lymph nodes. All of these symptoms point to many different possibilities, cancer being the main one and we are testing for everything you can imagine to find out what’s going on. The cost of all of these assessments is now over $2000 and will continue to increase. I’m praying for the best possible outcome and trying to stay positive.
Autumn always reminds to to smile and find the joy in each day, so we will continue to do that. She truly is an angel with four paws We understand how challenging this time is for everyone right now and we appreciate any help you can offer or simply sharing this with others.
