Missy's Recovery

In January 2021, Missy contracted Covid-19. Unlike many of us who quickly recovered, Missy developed cardiac and lung complications, which resulted in multiple hospitalizations. As she continued to seek treatment for her Long Covid symptoms, she began experiencing chronic nausea in August of 2021. Gastroparesis and Gastritis resulting from Long Covid are thought to be the cause of her agonizing 24 hours per day, 7 days per week nausea. Every anti-nausea medication on the market has been ineffective in providing any relief. Missy has sought treatment to no avail from countless specialists locally and in Boston. An opportunity has recently become available to obtain treatment at the Portland Clinic of Holistic Health in Oregon. It is unknown what portion of these costs will be reimbursed by health insurance, and there will be significant travel and lodging expenses involved in the expected month plus she will be in Portland.

 

Anyone who knows Missy, knows she is the first to help others but uncomfortable accepting assistance for herself. As she is currently on disability, those close to her have convinced her to let us help.
