Hello all good and kind souls out there!

My name is Laila Banu, and I am reaching out with a very heavy heart to ask for help for my daughter’s best friend, Danny the cat.

Danny is more than just a pet to my daughter; he is her anchor, her comfort, and her constant companion. Living alone on a fixed income through AISH can be incredibly isolating, but Danny has been a source of unconditional love and routine that has helped her through the toughest of days. He’s the first to greet her in the morning and the warm presence curled up beside her at night.

Recently, we noticed that Danny wasn’t himself. He was having trouble eating and seemed to be in pain. After a stressful visit to the vet, we received devastating news that has turned our world upside down.

Danny is very sick. He needs two teeth extracted immediately, and the vet has discovered a worrying tumour on his left upper gums. To give him a fighting chance, he requires a complex treatment plan that starts with urgent dental surgery and includes critical bloodwork and pathology tests to determine the nature of the tumour and the best course of action.

The estimated cost for the initial surgery, bloodwork, and testing is significant—far beyond what my daughter can afford on her AISH income. AISH provides only the bare essentials for survival, leaving no room for emergencies like this. The thought that Danny’s life is in eminent danger simply because we cannot afford the treatment he desperately needs is heartbreaking.

We are not asking for a lavish lifestyle or anything for ourselves. We are simply asking for a chance to save a loving little soul who means the world to my daughter. Danny is her family, and she is his whole world. We cannot bear the thought of losing him.

Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly to Danny's veterinary care. If we are blessed enough to raise more than what is needed for Danny’s immediate treatment, the remaining funds will be donated to a local animal rescue to help another family's beloved pet in need.
