Shail Miolan

Our beloved Shail Miolan left us unexpectedly on September 9, 2023. As his god-brother, with the blessing and appreciation of Shail’s parents and siblings, we have organized this GoFundMe in memory of Shail to help ease the burden of the unexpected burial expenses. In lieu of flowers or token of support, we ask for any size donation you can spare towards Shail’s burial expenses.

For anyone who knew Shail, he was a kind and joyful person who always had a smile on his face and had just celebrated his 33rd birthday this past June 12th. His family is devastated and in total shock at the loss of their son and is working to put together the pieces of what has happened to their family.

Shail and I were always close because our parents grew up in the same community in the Dominican Republic. We then lived a few neighborhoods away from each other in NYC and Kissimmee during our formative and adolescent years. Our mothers always tell stories of how both were pregnant with us at the same time. They took strolls together through the city parks of NY, supported one another throughout their pregnancies while our fathers worked, and ultimately gave birth to us one day apart from each other. Shail was like a brother to me, but he was also an amazing friend, son, and someone whose energy and beautiful spirit lifted any room. I know that many in his network feel the same way.

Our hope with this GoFundMe is to help contribute financially to the burden of the funeral expenses for this hard-working family that does not have a lot of financial resources. Please contribute what you can, and please share with others who may be able to help support this family in need.
