Ayden's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
First, I want to share a little about Ayden. Ayden is 9-years-old and loves baseball. He plays for the Little League every year and is an excellent pitcher and a very fast runner. He, along with our whole family, is a HUGE fan of the Dodgers and has been wearing his Shohei Ohtani shirt almost every day at the hospital. He loves petting dogs, building legos, playing roblox with friends, and learning about the ocean. When he grows up, Ayden wants to play for the Dodgers or be a Marine.
The evening after his 9th birthday party, Ayden's mom noticed a lump. A week later, the doctor found a mass and he was admitted into the pediatric oncology unit on the same day. Ayden underwent surgery to remove the mass two days later, and started chemotherapy the next week. In less than three weeks, life for the Balderas family has changed forever.
Ayden was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children. He has started chemotherapy and is expected to continue treatment for the next year. We are incredibly lucky that his mom, Alyssa, was so diligent about getting him checked out immediately. However, his journey is just beginning. He was at the hospital for almost two weeks and had two surgeries, one to remove the mass and one to put a port into his chest for treatment. He is now doing weekly chemotherapy. We are asking for financial help to support Ayden and his family during this difficult time.
My name is Amberlene, I am Ayden's aunt. I am running this fundraiser on behalf of the Balderas family. These funds will be used to cover Ayden’s medical expenses, and to help the family since his parents will be taking time off of work to be with Ayden during his treatments.
