There's really no easy way to share this kind of news, so I'll just dive right in.
As you may be aware - David recently received the heartbreaking news that he has stage 4 colon cancer. It’s a diagnosis that has completely changed his world, and the road ahead is looking like a long one.
It's going to be a harsh reality in the coming months, full Stop. Looking ahead, he faces months of difficult treatments and appointments. In tandem, he is facing additional challenges —emotional, physical, and financial—that come with fighting this disease.
Hear me when I say - Dave's ready to fight this thing!
If you are reading this, there's probably a good chance you know Dave. You know the kind of person he is, and know that he's the kind of guy who shows up for his people when they need him most. He's the friend who never hesitates to lend a hand, ready to help out how he can. He’s always been one that others in his life could depend on to show up,
Now, it's our turn to be there for him.
David is not someone who easily asks for help. (Trust me, it took some serious coaxing to get his blessing to create this Go Fund Me.) But we’ve been reminding him that he doesn’t have to face this alone. This is the time for his community of family and friends to show up for him, however that may look for each individual
The hope is that if folks band together, we can work to help ease the financial burden of medical/treatment expenses - and help provide Dave space to focus solely on his healing as this challenging journey begins.
Any contribution, no matter the amount is received and appreciated whole-heartedly.
Times are hard - and not everyone is in a place to financially contribute, and that's okay. Even if you’re not able to give financially, even just sharing this post or sending some words of encouragement his way could help make a positive impact for our friend.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this and hopefully share out if you can. Looking ahead - I am confident that together we can help him get through this by lifting him up with courage, comfort and showing him a community of people that refuse to let him fight this alone.
If you are able to make contributions directly through this go fund me, know that those funds go directly to Dave to use as appropriate. He also has Zelle available through his phone number. In addition, if you would like to contribute through venmo directly you can venmo his sister, Esmeralda, and she will make sure to get that to him. Here is her venmo information: @esmerico28
All the Best,
Rahel
