Hello Friends!
I am currently in my senior year at Grand Canyon University, pursuing a degree in Counseling with an emphasis of Addiction and Substance Use. GCU is truly an amazing school and I am learning so much academically, and growing spiritually as well. Today I am reflecting on how blessed I am, and writing to you to ask if you would consider joining my team.
This spring break I have the exciting opportunity to travel with a team of women from GCU to the country of the Philippines. We will be in the capital city of Manila from March 13th – 22nd. Our time there will be spent partnering with an organization call Kids International Ministries. You can check out their website at www.kidsim.org KIM’s focus is pretty straightforward – to meet the needs of abandoned children and poor by “showing” them the Gospel. The reality is that there are more than 200,000 street kids in Manila alone and 1.7 million children living impoverished in crowded slums all over metro Manila. That is absolutely heart breaking. KIM gets to interact with these precious children through a variety of relational ministries like children’s homes, schools, pregnancy centers, salon/beautician training, medical outreaches and the list can go on and on.
The unique part of our trip is that because we are an all women team we have the ability to serve KIM in a way that teams rarely have the opportunity to. We will be focused specifically on their all girls programs and outreaches and KIM is very excited about this. They are in the process of putting together an impactful itinerary for out team where they see the greatest need is. We are excited to jump in and be used by God wherever He leads us in this process.
Personally, I feel called to go on this trip because God has given me a passion for Children and comforting those in need. I believe that God desires to use us outside of my comfort zone for His glory, and to better His kingdom. Although we have a full team of women, we still are not complete with senders. This is where I need your help. I am asking you to prayerfully consider joining my team as a prayer warrior and/or financial supporter. The effectiveness of our GCU team’s ministry for the kingdom of God relies on all of us playing our part. I need at least five prayer warriors to being praying for me know until my team returns in March. I am also seeking financial supporters to help me meet my support goal of $2000. Would you please pray about giving a donation to my trip?
