Richard's Funeral Expenses

Hi my name is Sandi, I am helping my mother in law Carrie raise money to help for funeral expenses. Last Thursday her husband, Richard passed away after many months of being sick and going in and out of the hospital. Carrie is on a limited income, so the burden of having to come up with unexpected funeral costs up front along with all of her other household bills is causing her unhealthy stress in her time of grief. They had both been retired and had survived on getting paid by SS income and pension. Now she isn't sure how much she will be getting. She thought they had some sort of life insurance but found out a few days ago that wasn't the case. Please help me with raising funds so she can plan a funeral.
